Danie

Danie is currently a full-time student at Cambridge Performing Arts and is due to graduate in July 2008. She has a strong passion for Salsa Dancing, and has quickly become a proficient Salsa after starting in 2005. She has performed at numerous salsa venues including Vauxhall Coliseum, Bar Salsa, Scala and The Uk Congress. Danie was an original member of performance group 'Mambolifestyle' with whom she performed to an audience of over 2500 people at the 2006 UK Salsa Congress. Danie is now a member of the Diablo Dance Company (2005 and 2006 European group salsa champions) and performed with them this year's congress.
Danie began teaching in October 2006 under the expert instruction of Joe Davids (founder of the Latin Collective). Since then she has been teaching regular beginners and improvers classes at Club Salsa, Cambridge as well as in Belfast, London and events such as Latin Collective All-Day Workshops and The London Latinfest.
Danie has developped a confident teaching style, gaining a good balance between explanation and giving the class time to practise. Her experience of other dance styles has given her an increased knowledge of spin technique and her previous teaching experience (aerobics, pilates, ballet and jazz) means she has developed the ability to explain things simply and to organise and keep control of the class.
Danie is looking forward to more opportunities to teach and perform around the UK and abroad. Danie is very ambitious, a passionate, dynamic performer, and a skilled, patient teacher. She makes the most of every opportunity and is eager to develop her skills and experience in as many different genres as possible.
